Priority Sequence

  • The priority sequence is related to the rank and order of various functionaries in the Central and State governments. It has been amended several times till now (the notification issued on July 26, 1979 is related to the order of priority). As per the latest amendments, the order of preference is as follows
  • 1. President
    2. Vice President
    3. Prime Minister
    4. Governor of states (in their respective States)
    5. Former president
